"One really nice part is that I feel comfortable to be myself. I feel very confident and don't need to worry about not being able to do something because I am always learning new things. And learning is part of the fun for me." -Keegan Deemer, age 12

Dragonfly Day Camp is our exciting outdoor camp that runs for 5 days. Kids will learn and practice survival skills, fire making, nature crafts, and play games. Our days will be filled with playing in the creeks, finding natural mysteries (i.e. feathers, bones, and bugs), and building a primitive "campsite". Water activities are always a part of cooling off each day!

This camp includes excursions deeper into the forest where we'll practice wilderness survival skills, fire-by-friction, wild edible plants, navigation, cooking food over the fire, natural camouflage, crafts, and play lots of games.
Time: the 10-14 y.o. camp runs from 9am to 2pm Monday-Wednesday and then from 9am Thursday overnight to 2pm Friday. This will give kids a chance to try out camping in the woods. Some kids don't want to do the overnight and choose to stay until Thursday evening and then go home and come back for breakfast Friday morning.
Food: We will provide dinner on Thursday and breakfast on Friday. Kids should bring 2 lunches on Thursday and we'll put the 2nd one in a cooler for Friday.
*Kids can bring their own tent to sleep in and share with a friend(s). We will sleep out on the ground (ground tarp optional), in hammocks, under the stars (weather permitting) or on the covered deck.

Restrooms, Changing Clothes, and Privacy at Camp
- We have a private composting toilet house where kids can use the restroom.
- We also teach and encourage kids to learn to pee in the woods. This is done by having female staff teach a group of girls at a time (while all fully clothed) with emphasis on finding a private spot away from the group and how to avoid getting pee on yourself. These are also outdoor skills that can be taught at home before coming to camp.
- There are 2 private stalls for changing clothes in if that is needed. For example, changing into swimsuits for water play or changing out of muddy clothes. These stalls also have full length mirrors for tick checks.
