What it is:
We seek to improve mobility, balance, agility, and strength. The class structure is great for anyone feeling a need to get outside, get in your body, and move.
Who it is for:
Whether you're an athlete or you sit at a desk 40+ hours per week this class is for you. The system we use provides a progression from foundational movements that build correct (and safe) form to more complex movements and a series of movements into a flow.
Facility:
We meet no matter what the weather conditions are. If it's raining we have a large covered porch and if it's super cold we have an indoor space. However, our goal is to be outdoors and train in the elements (within reason) so that our bodies learn to function in these conditions.

F.A.Q. Frequently asked questions...
Q: Can I be barefoot or wear barefoot/minimalist shoes?
A: Yes IF you are used to this and have trained your foot muscles and joints for barefoot or minimalist walking and running. Making a fast transition from traditional running shoes to minimalist shoes have caused a lot of injuries. It's something that needs to be done slowly and with practice. This is something that we can and will work on in classes. Until you are ready however, you should wear footwear that is comfortable and typical for you.
Q: How intense are the classes and will it get my heart rate up?
A: This is not a high-intensity interval training class. Our primary focus is on getting comfortable in the body doing a variety of movements. We are all about progressions. We will likely get our heart rate up at times but we won't stay there because technique can get sloppy.
Q: Will I bulk up from doing this class?
A: You will more likely tone-up. We will do some strength training using medicine balls, wall balls, sandbags, and body weight exercises. Instead of isolating muscles we focus on range of motion and utilizing functional muscle groups. It can compliment any other fitness program that you are on.
Q: What if I don't feel comfortable doing a certain movement, I have pain, or I have a pre-existing injury?
A: Notify your coach of any pre-existing injuries or limitations prior to class beginning or during the warm-up. If anything is causing you extreme discomfort or pain then pause what is happening. You can always sit something out or your coach can show you a different way to do the activity. Anything your coach says is secondary to what your own body is telling you.
Q: What if I'm an athlete in great physical shape, will this class challenge me?
A: Yes! Many sports and activities are good at developing certain muscles and movement patterns for that particular sport/activity. With Forest Fit we develop a wide variety and range of movements including crawling, lifting, climbing, throwing, and jumping in varied environments. Forest Fit will help you become stronger and more capable and confident in your body which is great for any sport.
Q: What if I don't workout ever and I sit at a desk 40 hours a week? Will Forest Fit be too hard for me and will I just hold the group back?
A: No matter what your current activity level is currently, we will start everyone with the basics and use progressions to build a foundation and move up from there. In order to get the most out of this class you should be able to walk on uneven ground, touch your toes, reach up above your head, and jump. From there, we'll help you progress into more fluid mobility.
