Sassafras Sisters
Girls Day Camp
(formerly "Chickadee Camp")
We don't have 2024 dates for this camp.
It's likely that we will just be offering Dragonfly Day Camps so you can go ahead and sign up for one of those.

Grow, learn, and experience the fullness of nature together as women and girls.
Be in a supportive, mentored environment that is empowering, beautiful,
and super FUN!!!
This is an awesome wilderness camp for girls only! This year's girls camp will be led by Rose Harding. We will be outside everyday, in fields, meadows and forest! We will be learning about the wild world around us -the animals, birds, plants, trees, insects and more! We will play games every day, sing songs, cool off with water play, have adventures, find wild food and medicines, have lots of FUN, and so much more!

Restrooms, Changing Clothes, and Privacy at Camp
- We have a private composting toilet house where kids can use the restroom.
- We also teach and encourage kids to learn to pee in the woods. This is done by having female staff teach a group of girls at a time (while all fully clothed) with emphasis on finding a private spot away from the group and how to avoid getting pee on yourself. These are also outdoor skills that can be taught at home before coming to camp.
- There are 2 private stalls for changing clothes in if that is needed. For example, changing into swimsuits for water play or changing out of muddy clothes. These stalls also have full length mirrors for tick checks.
